Dear Parish Family,
We are pleased to offer our July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025 financial report. This report captures the life and energy of our parish, the generosity of our parishioners, and the various parish initiatives we have undertaken this year. In this report, I want to share where we are as a parish and where we are going in the year ahead.
More than anything, I want to thank you all for your generous support of our parish. Our offertory remains strong, exceeding our annual budget projections. This kind of support helps us to plan for our future, demonstrates your commitment to our parish community, and exemplifies your trust in our Catholic Church, our staff, school, and parish initiatives to proclaim Christ to our culture and local community.
This year, we completed a restoration of the murals in the sanctuary to bring out their natural beauty and highlight the virtues and life-giving Sacraments of our faith. Many thanks to our Chinese Auction team who fundraised to make this restoration possible!
Our parish ministries continue to build communities of faith in our family catechesis program, Vacation Bible School, and ministries to men and women of the parish. We reach out to families through our Welcome Committee, Good Sams, Bereavement, Eucharist to the homebound, and through our various community celebrations each year including our Parish Picnic, St. Patrick’s Day celebration, Chinese Auction, Stockings for Soldiers, our Pro Life ministry, Fourth of July hot dogs in Thompson Square, and bringing the King Kone truck to the Summer concert series in Thompson Square. Our liturgical ministers and Arts & Environment team help us to celebrate beautiful liturgies that bring the life of Christ and His Gospel to all who enter the doors of our church.
As always, there is a need for new volunteers in all of these areas to step in to help. Even though we are a small rural parish, we can and must be a bright beacon of hope to the people in our community. All of these ministries and opportunities remind us that we are lifelong disciples always in need of continuing conversion to deepen our relationship with Christ our Savior.
There is a growing interest in the Catholic Church in our society, and we need to be prepared to welcome and educate those who do not have a relationship with Christ or His Church into a life of discipleship and public witness of our faith. We do so through celebrating life-giving liturgies and remaining with Christ in the Eucharist at Mass and during times of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, coming to the Sacrament of Confession, and always seeking ways to live out our Baptism in our God-given vocations to proclaim the Gospel of life by our lives.
All in all, I hope this report offers hope and encouragement in a challenging time for our Church and our society. Partisan divisions and violence domestically and abroad continue to threaten the peace and security we pray for and work diligently to bring about in our world. As I’ve said many times, keep your eyes on Christ! Our risen Lord is the source of our hope. Remain in Him and we will find and continue to bring about the peace and healing our community and our culture so desperately needs.
I want our Catholic Church and parish to be a bright light of Christ’s grace and truth in our society and local community. To do this, we all need to recommit ourselves to the work that Christ has entrusted to us. There’s always something for us to be grateful for at our parish, and something for us to work towards. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to Christ and His Church!
I am yours in Christ,
Rev. Scott Goodfellow
