Parish School of Religion (PSR)
The Parish School of Religion (PSR) at St. Mary and St. Patrick is designed for children in Grades 1–8 who do not attend a Catholic school. Our program helps young people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ while learning about the Catholic faith through prayer, Scripture, Church teaching, and community.
PSR for both St. Mary and St. Patrick families will be held at St. Mary Parish in Chardon on Monday evenings. By bringing our parish families together, we are able to offer a vibrant faith formation experience that encourages friendships, active participation, and a deeper encounter with Christ.
Children in Grades 1–5 meet from 6:15–7:30 p.m., while Grades 6–8 participate in EDGE Middle School Youth Ministry from 6:00–7:45 p.m. EDGE combines engaging teaching, small-group discussions, prayer, service, and fellowship in a way that speaks to the unique needs of middle school students.
Our curriculum follows the guidelines of the Diocese of Cleveland and includes preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
Throughout the year, families from both parishes will be invited to gather for special prayer experiences, service opportunities, retreats, and Family Faith Formation events, many of which will continue to be hosted at St. Patrick Parish.
Together, we are committed to partnering with parents, the first and foremost teachers of the faith, to help our children know Christ, love Him, and joyfully live as His disciples.
