"The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all." This is how I start Mass every time. Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.

 

The mystery of the Holy Trinity is difficult to fully understand. How can God be one God in three Persons? Even though we cannot completely explain this mystery, we can understand one important thing very clearly: God loves us deeply.

 

God the Father is our Creator. He made the whole world and created each one of us in His image and likeness. Because we are made in God’s image, every person has dignity and is precious in His sight. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is our Savior. He came into the world to save us from sin and to show us the love of the Father and one another. Through His death and resurrection, He opened the way to eternal life for us. The Holy Spirit is our helper and guide. The Spirit gives us strength, wisdom, peace, and courage to live as faithful disciples of Christ every day.

 

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are perfectly united in love and communion. The Holy Trinity teaches us that we are not meant to live alone or only for ourselves. God calls us to live in love, unity, and communion with one another - in our families, our parish, our community, and our world. When we forgive, help, pray for, and care for one another, we reflect the love of the Holy Trinity in our daily lives and become witnesses of the mystery of the Holy Trinity.

 

If we pray slowly and carefully, we can see the Holy Trinity throughout the Creed. We profess our faith in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This reminds us how much God loves us and desires to be close to us.

We remember the mystery of the Holy Trinity every time we pray because we start with the Sign of the Cross. So, I encourage you to pray to the Holy Trinity this week, especially when you make the Sign of the Cross or pray the Creed. May the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit bless and guide you always.
